FilkingFilking is the folk music of the science fiction/fantasy/horror fan community. It has been around in one form or another since the first World Science Fiction Convention, but the term 'filk' wasn't coined until the mid 1950's. While original filksongs were the result of taking popular songs and rewriting the words to give it a sf/f/h bent, today a lot of original music has been written. Filking also includes the poetry/songs of Rudyard Kipling, a lot of which has been put to music by the American filker, Leslie Fish. Filking will be in Harbor Lounge B.
